What is the
Southampton Fresh Air Home?

  • Nonprofit residential center offering summer camp sessions and year-round programs for youth with physical disabilities.

  • Committed to helping our children develop physically, emotionally, and educationally.

  • Our goal is to foster self-esteem, maturity and independence through a broadly balanced program.

  • Fully wheelchair accessible while also operating under strict safety, sanitation, staffing, and program guidelines.

  • Operating since 1901...124 years and counting!

SFAH's Summer Program
(June - August)

  • Dedicated to children and young adults (ages 8-18) with physical disabilities

  • 40-50 campers in each of the three sessions. 

  • Overnight residential camp for 1- or 2- week sessions.

  • Campers divided into 4 groups with each group having 8 counselors with them (2:1 ratio campers:counselor)

  • 8-9 on-site activities per group each day as well as many additional clubs, and off-site trips.

  • Popular camper activities include swimming, sports games, adaptive video game room, arts & crafts, meditation, and MORE!

(Summer and Year-Round)

  • Give young adults the community, support, and life-skills that they need as they transition into adulthood.

  • Summer leadership and vocational training program dedicated to recent alumni and young adults (16-24 years old)

  • Summer program provides real-world work experience in key areas such as:

    • administration & secretarial responsibilities

    • one-on-one mentoring of other youth

    • wheelchair mechanics & general maintenance

  • Year-Round Program includes:

    • Home Away from Home - Independent Living Weekends (16-24 year olds)

    • Travel and transportation mentorship (16-24 year olds)

    • Lifeskill Advisory (16-24 year olds)

    • Campers Give Back - Assisting with fundraisers, events, and other programing
