Welcome to the SFAH Family!

What is the Southampton Fresh Air Home?
-
The Southampton Fresh Air Home is a nonprofit residential center offering adaptive summer camp sessions and year-round programs for youth with physical disabilities.
-
We are dedicated to helping our campers grow physically, emotionally, and educationally while fostering self-esteem, maturity, independence, and meaningful peer connections through a well-rounded program of recreation and skill-building.
-
Our fully wheelchair-accessible campus operates under rigorous safety, sanitation, staffing, and program standards, ensuring a secure, supportive, and nurturing environment for every child.
-
Founded in 1901, SFAH has served young people with physical disabilities for over 124 years — continuing to thrive as a community where joy, growth, and lifelong friendships flourish.
SFAH's Summer Program
(June - August)
-
Dedicated to children and young adults ages 8–20 with physical disabilities, the Southampton Fresh Air Home provides an engaging, inclusive, and fully adaptive overnight camp experience.
-
Each summer, 40–50 campers take part in one of three sessions, with the option of one- or two-week stays. Campers are organized into four groups, each supported by a dedicated team of eight counselors, ensuring an exceptional 2:1 camper-to-counselor ratio and individualized support.
-
A typical day includes 8–9 on-site activities per group, along with special clubs and off-site trips. Popular activities include swimming, adaptive sports, arts & crafts, our accessible video game room, meditation, and many more opportunities for recreation, skill-building, and fun.
